Your Hudson Valley hub for transformative experiences
At Hilltown Commons, retreats are more than time away from the everyday. They’re immersive experiences designed to spark growth, connection, and joy. We provide lodging, meals, and thoughtfully designed programming that aligns with our mission to foster learning and community through nature.
What we offer
We work with teams, nonprofits, and groups to create retreats that combine comfort, inspiration, and memorable activities. Each retreat is custom-built to your group’s needs, blending time for rest, reflection, and play.
Campus & Facilities
Set on 100 pastoral acres, our campus combines natural beauty with fully equipped spaces for gathering:
The Gugg – three versatile conference rooms, a multipurpose space for yoga or workshops, and a 180-seat theater fully equipped with A/V.
The Pub – our onsite restaurant for shared meals, with cozy indoor vibes, a deck for fresh air, and firepits nearby.
The Brewery – a stone outdoor fireplace perfect for casual hangouts, s’mores, stargazing, or karaoke nights.
Residences – five charming guest houses with 50 rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom.
tailored to your group
No two retreats are alike, and that’s the point. At Hilltown Commons, we collaborate with you to design a retreat that fits your group’s needs, goals, and culture. Some teams want full days of workshops and structured programming; others need downtime, reflection, and playful connection. We can scale activities up or down, mix in professional facilitation, or simply provide the setting for your group to do its thing.
Think of us as a flexible partner: whether you’re here for leadership development, staff appreciation, creative inspiration, or pure team bonding, we’ll help shape an experience that feels uniquely yours.
Team building activities
Shared experiences have a way of reshaping how groups relate—breaking down barriers, strengthening trust, and sparking creative energy that carries forward into everyday life. At Hilltown Commons, we partner with local experts to provide hands-on, engaging team-building experiences tailored to your group’s needs.
Some examples include:
Mushroom foraging & identification walks
Guided nature hikes
Invasive species management projects (hands-on conservation)
Stone wall building sessions
Karaoke & live music nights
Golf cart rides & campus explorations
Evening fireside gatherings
Each activity can be customized to your group’s goals, whether you’re looking to foster collaboration, spark creativity, or simply have fun together.

Testimonials
“Our experience at Hilltown Commons serves as one the absolute highlights of our company over the last five years. We brought together 60 individuals from 20 states and 6 countries for our annual retreat, and the beauty of the campus, quality of the accommodations, and hospitality of the staff far exceeded expectations. As an environmental startup, being able to ground our community in nature and center the work we're doing was invaluable: from morning mushroom foraging tours with a local mycologist, to a stonewall building practical education workshop, to exploring the stunning nearby waterfalls we couldn't have asked for more. It felt like a wonderfully wholesome version of adult summer camp and we can't wait to come back again next year.”
— Will Turett, COO and Co-Founder of Green Project Technologies
“Choosing Hilltown Commons for our company retreat turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve made. The peaceful, scenic setting gave everyone a chance to unwind and really connect beyond the day-to-day work routine. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive—every interaction felt genuine and thoughtful.
The workshops were a big success, too. The Hilltown team helped organize engaging activities that sparked creativity and teamwork in ways we hadn’t seen before. It was amazing to watch people who are usually more reserved open up, join in, and share a few laughs. The whole experience was not just fun—it gave our team a real boost in energy, connection, and morale.”
— Keirnyn Ross, President of Ross Energy Consulting
