In a historic hamlet where artists, writers, makers, farmers, thinkers, preservationists, and wanderers share long tables and even longer stories, Hilltown Commons continues a tradition of gathering that began here over a century ago. Once the site of 1920s peace talks, today we host teams, creatives, and mission-driven organizations for private retreats and off-sites shaped by the land and its legacy.
Your gathering creates real impact.
As a nonprofit campus, we use revenue from each retreat to sustain local jobs, steward our protected land and historic buildings, and support the arts, education, and community programming that live here year-round.

Located in New York’s Upper Hudson Valley, Hilltown Commons sits between Lake Myosotis, a no-wake lake in the Huyck Preserve, and Rensselaerville, a charming hamlet listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

From offsites and workshops to conferences and private events, our campus offers exclusive access to 90 acres of historic grounds. Gather in open fields, along wooded trails, and around outdoor tables set with farm-fresh meals. Stay overnight at one of our five residences, which offer 50 ensuite bedrooms, and unwind at The Pub over natural wine and local beer.
